Description

The loosening of damaged hexagonal screws is a recurring source of frustration for mechanics and it could waste them a lot of time. The new OGV® GRIP profile, based on the same approach as the FACOM OGV® for its sockets, gives the hexagon bits great efficiency.

Standard hex tools stretch fastener materials when torque is applied. Pressure is exerted on the outside corners removing material and eventually rounding them out. OGV® GRIP hex engage both the corners and the rounds of a fastener. Torque exerted on the fastener engages material and pulls it inward allowing the tool to grip and turn maintaining the integrity of the fastener. OGV® GRIP hex tools will turn a fastener that is rounded up to 98% as well as prevent good fasteners from rounding out.
